Cricket
Cricket is the major game for boys at Brandeston Hall in years 3-8 during summer term. All boys in Years 3-6 practice and play matches three times a week and boys in Years 7-8 may practice or play four times a week.
The facilities at Brandeston are outstanding, with indoor and outdoor nets and four cricket squares, with the 1st XI wicket widely recognised as the best Prep School wicket in East Anglia. We try to involve as many boys as possible in matches and again we have a highly qualified coaching team including former Derbyshire professional and Framlingham College 1st XI coach, Ben France. Players are monitored continually by the coaching staff and modern methods such as video analysis and automatic bowling machines are used to improve the technique of the individual.

Our fixture list includes the strongest schools in the region and on average the Under 9s will play 6 matches during the season, the Under Colts will play 10 matches (plus and the Seniors will play around 10 to 12 matches.
Brandeston Hall Cricketers are regularly selected to play for Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and their respective district sides. In addition many of our cricketers have been added to the growing list of the Lord's Taverner's Centurions. There are a number of opportunities for boys to get involved in local teams too during evenings and weekends. This gives added value for boarders and day pupils to be involved in the local community and raise their cricketing profiles beyond the grounds of Brandeston Hall.
