Senior girls train on astro-turf and play virtually and matches on astro-turf, Under 11 Girls train on both astro-turf and grass, whilst the Under 9 girls train and play on our excellent grass pitches.

Girls Hockey at Brandeston Hall

As is our philosophy, we try to involve all girls wherever possible in matches. The Senior girls play a mixture of 7 a side (in preparation for the County Cup and the IAPS National Hockey Competition) and 11 a side in readiness for Year 9. Both Under 11s and Under 9s play 7 aside. We have a strong coaching hockey coaching staff that includes international and county playing and coaching experience.

Our fixture list includes the strongest schools in the region and pride ourselves on our philosophy of excellence and inclusivity. On average the Under 9s will play 6 matches during the season (plus tournaments), the Under 11s will play 10 to 12 matches (plus tournaments) and the Seniors will play around 10 to 14 matches (plus tournaments). The 1st XI and the Under 11A enjoy an annual tour to Lincolnshire and Norfolk.

Brandeston teams enjoy an enviable reputation on the circuit and our results speak for them selves. We always perform well at County level and girls are regularly selected for Suffolk and Norfolk’s County teams.
