Monday 9 Jan 2017
L-R: Nick Gandy (Director of Sport), Sarah Ralph (Netball Coach), Amy Walker, Grace Rider, Ashleigh Neal (Hertfordshire Mavericks), Keshia Grant (Hertfordshire Mavericks), René Bahar, Echezeaux Titley, Sophie Harrad, Jemma Crossley, Emily King (Head of Netball).

Ashleigh Neal has joined Mavericks following three seasons with Demons in the Western Australia Netball League, where she won numerous awards including League MVP and player’s player. Keshia Grant has spent six years playing in the ANZ and is also an exceptional all round athlete having represented New Zealand in both Rugby Sevens and Javelin.

The Mavericks stars led the Framlingham girls through a whole day of skills and drills, inspiring the squads and school coaches with their amazing ball handling skills and also showing them the sort of advanced tactics we will be seeing in the Superleague this season.

It was such an exciting introduction to the season and the netball department can’t wait to get started on their own matches and is also looking forward to going to see Ashleigh and Keshia in action on the court for Herts Mavericks.

Framlingham College’s Director of Sport, Nick Gandy said, “We are delighted to be developing a relationship with the Hertfordshire Mavericks franchise and are very much looking forward to working closely with them in the future. Our plans include hosting a two-day Mavericks Netball Camp, which is open to the children from the local community, in February half-term.”

Framlingham College were delighted to welcome two international netball professionals to coach a day of pre-season with the school’s elite players. Australian, Ashleigh Neal, and New Zealander, Keshia Grant, have both signed with local Superleague franchise, Hertfordshire Mavericks this season.
