Framlingham College Summer Concert 2017

Monday 8 May 2017

College ensembles joined together to create an evening of musical brilliance and joy for our Summer Concert this year. The concert was held in the beautiful St Michael’s Church, which added not only acoustic colouring but also the most wonderful setting for the performances.

The variety of performances was excellent, with a world premiere thrown in for good measure! It was particularly poignant to hear solo performances from some of the College’s Year 13 students. Mr Michael Cooke also gave a beautiful farewell performance of Poulenc’s Cantilena for flute and piano with Miss Cassan-Ferrier.

A particular highlight was the String Ensemble playing 1/00/1, a Flute Concerto composed for the group by Nathanael Gubler, and performed with Royal College of Music flautist, Daniel Scott. The performances from all of the choirs and instrumental ensembles were energetic and focused, demonstrating our commitment to music making at the highest levels.

Framlingham College Headmaster, Paul Taylor added. “‘It really was an uplifting musical evening, bearing real testimony to the quality and variety of music at the College and the sheer enjoyment that the students get from performing”.
