The likely size of any fee increase for the coming year is communicated to parents each Easter. The precise fees are set and communicated to parents in July.

Pupils may be required to purchase some stationery items and sixth form texts. Fees for external exams are charged to parents. The CCF and certain other clubs and societies, as well as the cost of some trips and excursions are charged to parents.  At the College a small termly charge is added to fund  House activities, and a further charge is applicable to fund 6th Form Society activities.

No extra charge is made for using standard College facilities, games, medical attention within Framlingham College and everyday laundry or linen repairs. Essential texts are not charged to pupils if returned in good condition and by the required deadline.

Fees for individual instrumental and singing tuition are payable directly to relevant visiting music teachers.

Charges are also made for additional individual lessons, ESL and home boarding arrangements. Full details of specific rates are available on request from the Finance office.

Fees and Withdrawal

Fees must be paid on or before the first day of the term for which they are due. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Framlingham College’.  Alternatively we offer a monthly payment scheme.  Details are available from the Finance Office.

Governors reserve the right to refuse admission to a pupil whose fees are not paid or to require the withdrawal of an existing pupil whose fees have not been settled in accordance with College requirements.

In the event of a pupil’s withdrawal for any reason, or the discontinuation of an optional extra, including chargeable music lessons, a full school term’s notice in writing must be received by the Head on or before the first day of the term preceding that for which the notice is to take effect. Similarly, requests for a change in boarding status are to be made, in writing, to the Head giving a full term's notice. A change of status from boarding to day is not normally permitted mid-year. A full term's fees, or the charge for the optional extra, is payable unless such notice has been given.

The Head reserves the right to dismiss a pupil from the College or Preparatory School. In the event of a pupil being removed at the Head’s request, fees in hand will not be returned.

Acceptance of an offered place confirms agreement to the school’s published code of conduct.

Reductions for Siblings:

When three or more children of the same family are current pupils, a 20% reduction of the tuition element of the fee will be given to the third child and a 50% reduction of the tuition fee will be given to any further children.

Childcare Vouchers:

Many employers offer their employees access to childcare vouchers through salary sacrifice schemes.  We are able to accept childcare vouchers for payment of:

  • Nursery fees and ‘After School Club’ charges for children attending the Nursery.
  • ‘After School Club’ charges for children in Pre-Prep (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2).
  • After school activities which take place on school premises for children in Pre-Prep (excluding additional sports coaching such as tennis lessons / cricket coaching).
  • Boarding fees for any pupil up to, and including, the summer term of the academic in year in which they turn 15.  This can include Full Boarding, Weekly Boarding, Flexi Boarding and Occasional Boarding fees.

Please note that childcare vouchers cannot be accepted for payment of tuition fees, including the Pre-Prep fee, or the charge for lunch and consumables for any child.

If you wish to pay all, or part of, your child’s fees with childcare vouchers please check with the company that provides your vouchers that we are registered as a childcare provider with them.  Please supply their details to us if we are not registered to allow us to register with them.  We will be unable to accept payment by vouchers unless we are registered with the voucher provider.

Please contact Miss Terrie Calvert, Finance Assistant, if you have any enquiries about paying fees by childcare vouchers.

Reductions for HM Forces:

The first child of personnel serving in HM Forces will be granted a reduction in the tuition element of the fee.  We offer a standard 10% reduction off the tuition fee, with further reductions possible following an assessment of financial circumstances.

Insurance and Fee Payment Schemes:

Remission of fees is not made for absence due to illness, accident, quarantine or any other cause. There is, however, a School Fees Remission Insurance Scheme available to cover such absences. The Finance office can supply details of this scheme and of others designed to assist fee payment planning. All pupils are enrolled in a Pupil Accident Insurance Scheme at no extra cost; full details are available from the Finance office.
