Music at Framlingham College

Framlingham College excels in its music making, both academic and co-curricular. With our newly refurbished department, we now have some of the best school music facilities in the country.

- The Recital Hall [Music 1] is a large rehearsal hall which is also used for smaller-scale concerts. This room also has 14 computers equipped with the latest composing software from Sibelius
- Music 2 is a second classroom is available for GCSE & A-level teaching.
- Practice Rooms - a suite of seven smaller rooms are used for ensemble practice and individual music lessons.
- The Chapel - is used for choral rehearsals as well as for events including chamber concerts and carol services

Recent successes in the Music Department include:
- Christina Johnston (Soprano, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, now singing at the Opera House in Prague)
- Amelia Hudson (Contralto, Trinity College of Music, London)
- Stuart Foulston (Jazz, Leeds University)
- Henry Dunham (Music, Cardiff)
- Adam Darroch Thompson (Commercial Music, Bath Spa), member of the band AVIUS with OF Bertie Whitfield: their first EP is available on iTunes
- Laura Wright (BBC Chorister of the Year 2006, Soprano; Scholarship to the Royal College of Music), formerly a member of All Angels, soon to release her debut solo album "Lavender Blue" with Decca Records.
