East Anglian Prep Schools Cross Country Championships 2012

Brandeston Hall won the 35th East Anglian Prep Schools Cross Country Championships, sponsored by Henry Gordon Jones Kitchens, for the second year running on Sunday, 18 March. The event was held at Framlingham College and is the largest cross country event for prep schools in East Anglia.

With over 500 competitors over four different age groups from Under 10 to Under 13, Brandeston Hall were under pressure from runners of 25 other prep schools. Brandeston Hall were victorious overall in what has already proved to be an outstanding year of running with an excellent team display.

Outstanding individual performances include Mimi Salsby (4th Under 10 Girl), Lottie Summers (1st Under 11 Girl), Liberty Salsby (2nd Under 11 Girl), Jolyon Summers (4th in the Under 12 Boys), Alex Lawrence (2nd Under 13 Boys) and Harry Dorber (4th Under 13 Boys).

The Headmaster of Brandeston Hall, Martin Myers-Allen said, "It really has been quite an outstanding term of sport at Brandeston Hall and this performance is yet another highlight of the sporting year so far. Recently, our Under 11 Girls have added to their County title by becoming East of England Hockey Champions."

The Cross Country event is also about a tremendous team effort and for Brandeston Hall to retain the overall trophy, is a wonderful reflection on the effort, determination and spirit of each of the 42 team members.
