Six County Champions

Friday 10 Jun 2016

The Brandeston Hall athletes had a fabulous day at the Suffolk AAA County Championships at Bury St Edmunds. Competing at U13 (Yr7) and U15 (Yr 9) level our athletes performed superbly with 6 gold medals, 5 Silver Medals, 3 Bronze Medals, 16 Personal Bests and 6 Season’s Bests.

Connor Slater came 2nd in the U15 boys’ 300m; Lucas Walker came 3rd in the U15 boys high jump and 2nd in the U15 boys shot-putt,;Louie Mayall came 3rd in the U13 boys shot; Emma Williamson came 3rd in the U13 girls hurdles; Mimi Salsby and Johnny Peate both came 2nd in the U15 girls’ 800m and in the U13 boys’ 1,500m respectively and Freya Faulkner also won a silver medal in the U13 girls long jump. Freya then won the U13 girls girls shot putt whilst Harry Williamson won the U15 boys discus (and has subsequently been selected to represented to represent Suffolk at the Anglian Athletics Championships). Harry’s sister Emma won both the U13 girls high jump and the U13 girls 800m whilst Will Lamprell won the U13 boys shot and the U13 boys high jump. These performances gave Brandeston an extraordinary six county athletics champions.

Well done to everyone who represented the school with such enormous credit and good luck for the rest of the season.
