Success for Fram College Prep School at National IAPS Tennis Tournament

Friday 21 Jul 2017

Fram College Prep School had a very successful week at the IAPS Tennis tournament at Millfield School, Somerset on July 17th to 19th.

Georgie Gardens in the U13 Girls, Beth Gardens in the U11 Girls and Nat Salsby in the U11 Boys all made the quarter finals of the main draw singles, in which they all qualified by winning their round robin group plus two knock out rounds to reach the last 8 of the competition.
But pride of place went to Beth Gardens and Anna Cogdell who went all the way to the U11 Girls doubles final, including two close 7-6 victories before going down 3-6 in the final.
More success was achieved in the U13 Boys and Girls doubles plate competition. Ben Smart and George Jackson in the boys, Marnie Salter and Tabby Walker in the girls, both pairs went all the way to win the trophy in both events.
Coach Trevor Wright said “This is the 13th year I have taken teams to this lovely event, and is by far our most successful in this time, very well done to all our players”.
