Family/Parents initial visit
Contact should be made with the Prep School Registrar, Lucy Bryanton who will make arrangements for parents to meet the Head and take a tour of the school. Children are welcome at the initial visit but we often find that parents prefer to take the first tour without them. We will leave this entirely up to you as every family is different.
Child’s visit/familiarisation
Children will be invited to spend some time at Framlingham College Prep School. All visits are tailor made and the amount of time each child spends here is dependent on their age and confidence. Year 3 and above would typically spend the day with their peer group and boarders are, of course, welcome to stay the night, some wish to spend more to gain a real feel for the school.
Assessment
During the child’s visit and familiarisation, those who are Year 3 and above, will take the entrance exam. This exam focuses upon a pupil’s ability in English and Mathematics. The Headmaster will meet with all parents after assessment and will go through the results of the assessments and exams at the end of each child’s visit.
Registration
Parents are invited to register their child/ren by completing the Registration Form and returning it with £50 non-refundable Registration Fee. This secures a place for the child but entry is still subject to satisfactory reports and references.
References & Reports
Once registered the Head will write to the child/ren’s current school for a formal reference and copies of their most recent reports.
Formal offer
Once satisfactory references have been received a place will be formally offered.
Acceptance of place
To accept the place offered parents are asked to sign the Parent Contract and return it with £200 deposit.
