Jesus teaches acceptance, both of the world and of oneself. Acceptance starts by understanding our anxiety further and recognizing causes and solutions.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.

They are plans for good and not for disaster,

to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11-12

If we are to overcome anxiety, we need to accept that the cause of anxiety is fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of the future and fear that we will get it wrong. Having a Faith in a higher being such as expressed in Christianity, Judaism or Islam, allows us, as free thinking humans, to  celebrate the values that run counter to the underlying causes of fear. We put our trust in God. The more we learn to trust in God, the more we will gain confidence in change and accept what happens in our futures. Believing in God is about trust over every uncertainty. This belief helps reduce anxiety.
